Specialist Cleaning Treatments
The following are specialist services offered by Valetek:
|
|
The process of routine cleaning is a process which is about the removal of soil and particle contaminants. Most spots and marks will therefore come out as part of the cleaning process although a little encouragement from some special “spray and go” type of treatments may be necessary. However, stains result from transfer of dyes and may need specialist treatment.

Stain removal using skilled technicians with a good understanding of the chemistry of cleaning is more expensive and may be charged on a time and materials basis. We are competent to identify the likelihood of a stain being successfully removed within about 15 to 30 minutes from when these specialist techniques are employed. If stains remain following cleaning, we would consult with yourselves before we undertook any such additional work and before we committed you to any additional expense.

Firstly we make the following statement:
There are many excellent carpet and upholstery protectors that do the job they were designed to do.
However we believe the following is also true: |
 |
|
Most carpet and upholstery protectors are over-sold or the consumer assumes that protectors have a far greater capability than can be realistically expected of them.
Here are a few facts about protectors which may help you, the consumer understand what you are getting for this relatively expensive fabric treatment.
1. Protectors are designed to resist only normal household spillages i.e. food and drink and outside soiling, i.e. not bleaches, paint, motor oil and burns.
2. Spillages must be removed immediately or vapour from the spillage as it dries out will break through the protectors barrier properties.
3. As most protectors nowadays are fluorochemical (water based) if you have your carpet cleaned you will need to consider a protector top-up on the item cleaned or you are losing the effectiveness of the protector.
4. Protectors do not prevent gravity from taking effect on your carpets and upholstery. Carpets will continue to get dirty but should produce superior results following vacuuming and when you call in your local carpet cleaner.
5. You never need protector until you spill something and stain your carpet or upholstery, so it is like buying insurance.
6. Beware of cheap offers. Protector is not cheap.
7. Protectors wear off from the surface to which they are applied.
8. Protectors need time to cure once they are applied. Walking or sitting on the treated area reduces the final quality of the treatment and may result in its failure to perform altogether.

The sense of smell is one of our most emotive senses. It can be both “real” and “imagined”. Our IICRC qualification in Odour control (a course aimed primarily at eradication of smoke damage following a fire) gives us a better understanding of how to tackle household odours which are difficult to eliminate.
Our recent IICRC qualifications in Water Damage Restoration and Applied Structural Drying have resulted in a successful relationship with the National Flood School and their Insurance Claims Network covering commercial and residential insurance work. |
